Why China buys Nigerian shea butter
China is a destination market, not a shea-growing region. Drums arriving at Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen or Guangzhou are West African origin. Guangzhou and Shenzhen OEMs, Shanghai traders and inland fillers specify shea as they specify other tropical butters — against a COA, not a brand story.
NMPA filing is for finished cosmetics the Chinese responsible person places on the market. Food-use drums need a CIFER-registered overseas plant and the importer's GACC path. EMI Agro's published marks remain NAFDAC registered, SON approved and HACCP in progress; organics stay in pursuit. Do not write NMPA or CIFER as an EMI certificate.
Name Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen or Guangzhou on the quote. Typical ocean time from Lagos is about 32–50 days. Split inland delivery after discharge is the importer's arrangement. One bill of lading names one discharge port.
Unrefined Grade A for cosmetics in China
Guangzhou and Shenzhen OEMs specify unrefined Grade A when the export brief wants a natural West African fat. The COA — not an NMPA number on EMI Agro — is what belongs in the purchase file. Name Shenzhen or Guangzhou if the plant is in the Pearl River Delta; Shanghai if the trader sits in East China.
How to buy from EMI Agro in China
China buyers choose EXW, FOB or CIF. CIF is usually named to Shanghai or another listed South / East China port. Each term prices different services beyond the butter. There is no published RMB or USD price list.
Standard orders start at 20 tonnes; trial lots start at 5 tonnes. Send the request even if you need less. Current production of 40 tonnes per week of finished shea butter can support a rolling programme into Guangzhou or Shanghai once the purchase order names the cadence.
Lead time is production plus the longer West Africa–China ocean range to Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen or Guangzhou. Name one discharge port per bill of lading.

Nigerian shea butter for China
