Refined N-RBD shea butter for body butter and lotion shipped from Lagos to the European Union.
Summary
Why this grade in the European Union
the European Union does not grow shea as a commercial crop. Refined N-RBD shea butter for body butter and lotion is imported from West Africa. EMI Agro loads at Apapa and Tin Can Island for Hamburg (typical ocean range 18–28 days). CPNP filings sit with the importer in European Union.

Nigerian shea butter for the European Union
the EU does not grow shea. The butter on a the EU COA is West African — EMI Agro presses it in Ibadan from wild-collected nuts. CPNP and the Responsible Person sit at Union level; VAT and the clearance office sit in the Member State of entry. EMI Agro works with 5,000+ women collectors in Kwara, Niger, Kaduna, Kogi. Hamburg is the usual discharge.
Ask for a batch COA on a NIS 571:2013 basis: free fatty acid, peroxide value, moisture, colour and melting point. Reject lots that smell sharply rancid or pour like liquid oil at room temperature. CPNP filings sit with the the EU importer — they do not replace a COA.
Trial lots start at 5 tonnes; standard orders start at 20 tonnes. Send the request even if you need less — EMI Agro reviews every European Union enquiry against current production of 40 tonnes per week of finished shea butter and can schedule rolling shipments. Lead time is Ibadan production plus ocean time to Hamburg. Quotes are EXW, FOB or CIF; each term prices different services beyond the butter.
Two questions. We show the grade, the documents that usually apply and the next step — we do not invent a price.
Recommended specifications for body butter and lotion
| Parameter | Target for body butter and lotion | Why it matters | Test method |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slip melting point | Available on request | Still the whipping window. Refining does not flatten the range; a few degrees of batch drift still changes set. | AOCS Cc 3-25 |
| Colour | Available on request | The visible difference from an ivory whip; pastel lotions stay on shade across lots. | AOCS Cc 13e-92 |
| Peroxide value (PV) | Available on request | High-load anhydrous products need the oxidation clock near zero; refined starts lower than Grade A. | AOCS Cd 8-53 |
| Free fatty acid (FFA) | Available on request | Low free fatty acid avoids rancid note and pH drift in oil-in-water lotions — the refined ceiling, not Grade A. | AOCS Ca 5a-40 / ISO 660 |
| Moisture and volatiles | Available on request | Anhydrous whips have no preservative; drying after N-RBD must leave the fat dry. | AOCS Ca 2b-38 / ISO 662 |
| Iodine value | Available on request | Identity and oxidative headroom; refining must not move iodine value (if it does, ask why). | AOCS Cd 1-25 / Other Wijs |
| Unsaponifiable matter | Available on request | Honest positioning: refined shea, not raw shea. | AOCS Ca 6a-40 |
